Playing a CD is significantly louder at the same volume level as other sources. The volume ranges from 0-32 and across all the sources the audio quality is decent with good, clean and crisp vocals, nice bass level and a reasonable soundstage. With the Pure brand and the 100W output, we had high hopes of excellent audio quality but what we found was a real mixed bag. Now onto the important part and that’s the audio quality. Overall, the Evoke Home is very easy to use and has an excellent range of sources to cover all bases and we had no issues in controlling the system via the remote, the buttons or the Undok App, it all worked perfectly.

Using this free app, you can easily select between sources, see what is currently playing, change track and volume for example, along with setting the sleep timer, equalizer and other system settings. The Evoke Home can also be controlled by the Undok App.
There are also the options to repeat and shuffle, it even remembers the track position on a particular CD even when ejected. The remote or controls on the unit will eject, pause, play, change track and advance or rewind within the track itself. The CD player loading is very smooth and quiet in operation, but you do have to select the CD source first to load a CD, it won’t autoload and switch to CD player by itself. There are also two alarms and a sleep timer. It’s a very similar navigation process with the Podcast source too. The menu has preset searches such as UK, local, popular and you can also search by name to find a specific station. The internet radio has up to 85,000 radio stations to choose from around the world, so whatever floats your boat you can listen to it. With the DAB, FM and Internet Radio, you can have up to 6 presets per source.
With a flip up 2.8-inch colour display, 100W of output power and keeping in mind the history of Pure Evoke products, we have high hopes that this £399 Evoke Home will meet our expectations, read on to see how it gets on in our review… The Evoke Home offers all the playback options you could ever want including DAB radio, Internet Radio, Bluetooth, Podcasts, Spotify Connect and even plays those funny circular shaped bits of plastic - for the youngsters out there, these are known as CDs.

The three new releases are the £179 Evoke Spot which is a small and compact smart speaker, the £249 Evoke Play which is a larger example with an option of a £59 upgrade battery pack to make it portable and finally the subject of our review today, the £399 Evoke Home.
